Participant in January 6th Events Denied Bail

Federal judge delivers stern reprimand in video conference.

The face of 60-year-old Arkansas resident Richard Barnett made headlines weeks ago as the man who broke into Speaker Pelosi’s office and posed in her chair during the infiltration of the Capitol. He was subsequently charged with theft, violent entry, and carrying a dangerous weapon on Capitol grounds, which could carry a prison term of up to 11 years.

Barnett had attempted to post bail, but District of Columbia Chief Judge Beryl Howell emphasized the flagrant nature of his “brazen, entitled, and dangerous” behavior this past week. “The government has presented overwhelming evidence that this defendant, Richard Barnett, enthusiastically participated in this act of assaulting the Capitol and disrupting the democratic process,” the judge said.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Judge Howell to uphold the law and the Constitution in her oversight of this case.
  • That God would bring justice in all cases of domestic terrorism.
  • That God would guide the president’s administration in securing the nation against violent demonstrators.
